Piab Group is seeking a Senior R&D Designer in Due Carrare, Italy. You will drive advanced custom and special solutions, collaborating with Product Engineering and key customers to transform complex requirements into robust designs.

The role requires extensive experience in mechanical/mechatronic design, strong CAD skills (Inventor/SolidWorks), and proficiency with PDM/PLM systems. You will contribute to global projects and maintain high quality standards.

Competenze

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or related field.
• Several years ( typically 9+ years ) of experience in mechanical/mechatronic design in an industrial environment.
• Experience with custom/special machinery, automation systems or vacuum technology is advantageous.

Mansioni

• Support Product Engineers globally with custom requests by analyzing needs and proposing feasible technical solutions.
• Provide direct technical support to key customers, especially for critical applications, as a senior technical counterpart in discussions and design reviews.
• Lead the design and development of high-level, complex custom and special solutions from concept to released design.
• Use CAD tools (Inventor and/or SolidWorks) to create 3D models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Work with PDM/PLM systems to manage product data, revisions and documentation.
• Collaborate with the R&D team on new concepts, prototypes and evaluations.
• Prioritize projects and applications to ensure on-time delivery and communicate with stakeholders.
