Job summary

Baker Hughes Company in Italy seeks a UPG PSE Systems Engineer to lead system and instrumentation engineering activities within upgrade projects for legacy turbomachinery, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and compressors. You will define and integrate process systems, auxiliaries, and instrumentation across the full project lifecycle.

Fluent English and Italian are required, and a Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering field is preferred.

Partner with the best As a UPG (Upgrades) PSE (Package and System Engineer) Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for both System and Instrumentation Engineering activities within upgrade projects for legacy turbomachinery, including Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, and Turboexpanders. You will lead the definition and integration of process systems, auxiliaries, instrumentation, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies into existing plant configurations. The role supports the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through procurement, testing and installation with the goal of improving performance, reliability, availability, and asset life.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in the Energy or Oil & Gas industry.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics, process engineering, and engineering simulation tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Fluent in English and Italian.
• Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

For Italy: The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 38,605 To 59,000. "The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay".
