New Gold currently seeks an Intermediate Underground Geotechnical Engineer for the Rainy River Mine. You will support both office and field activities and report to the Senior Underground Geotechnical Engineer, working on GCMP implementation and ground control across underground excavations.

The role requires a 4–7 year background in rock mechanics, underground ground support design, and proficiency with 2D/3D modelling tools such as RocScience, Deswik, Leapfrog, and GeoStudio.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering or Mining Engineering required.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO or eligible for immediate registration.
• 4–7 years of experience in rock mechanics and underground ground support design.

Mansioni

• Provide geotechnical and ground control support for the Rainy River Underground Mine.
• Mentor Geotechnical Engineers-in-Training (EITs).
• Perform numerical modelling and stope stability analysis for underground excavations.
• Integrate rock mass characterization and data into geotechnical design and stability assessments.
• Maintain and update the GCMP with design changes and analyses.
• Support inspections, instrumentation, monitoring, and surveillance programs.
• Ensure compliance with OHSA and site requirements.
• Communicate design intent across the organization.
