Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for the Time & Pay Innovation team in Madrid, Spain. You will own and deliver features on a critical real-time platform that processes millions of IoT punch events globally.

You will write high-quality production code, make trade-off decisions, and mentor junior engineers while shaping system design for scale, resilience, and operability across geographies.

Competenze

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• Own the design and delivery of significant features and components across scalable, multi-tiered applications and services.
• Write high-quality, well-tested production code using modern languages, design patterns, and frameworks.
• Make sound technical decisions with appropriate trade-offs and communicate them clearly.
• Design and build for scale and resilience with patterns like backpressure and circuit breakers.
• Own operational excellence: monitor, respond to alarms, investigate root causes, and reduce toil.
• Contribute to system-level design discussions and participate in design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Understand and translate business requirements across punch processing, attendance, scheduling, and compliance.
• Identify and resolve technical debt and optimize performance.
• Contribute to team processes and culture through sprint planning and on-call rotations.
