Job summary

Alfa Laval in San Bonifacio (VR) is seeking a Technology Area Leader to drive development of brazed heat exchanger technologies. You will translate customer needs into R&D requirements, lead cross-functional teams, and optimize performance through innovative design and process improvements.

The role involves international collaboration (mainly Sweden), strong thermodynamics knowledge, and CFD-based analysis to deliver high-value customer solutions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related field.
• PhD or equivalent experience in the competence field is preferred.
• CFD simulations experience is required or highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer applications to identify opportunities for product and process innovation.
• Participate in Technology Development projects with focus on thermal aspects.
• Perform thermal prognosis, test specs, evaluations and problem solving.
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Sales and Manufacturing to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Technology Area Leader

San Bonifacio (VR)

Mission:

Development of new technologies for brazed heat exchangers, typically used in Air conditioning, Heat Pump, Data Center and Refrigeration applications. Translation of customer long term needs into R&D requirement. Participate in decision making in projects with major impact on technology, in order to optimize performance and increase customer value.

Key tasks:

• Analyze customer applications to identify opportunities for product and process innovation
• Participate in Technology Development project as part of cross-functional project team with focus on the thermal aspects
• Thermal prognosis and analysis, thermal test specification, evaluations and problem solving are typical tasks.
• CFD Simulations involving heat transfer between fluids in 1ph- and 2ph flows (evaporation/condensation)
• Specify, follow tests and evaluate test results in our 2-phase test laboratory
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product Management, Sales, and Manufacturing, to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Optimize product performance and value through innovative design and process improvements
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to heat exchangers.
• Identify and pursue innovation opportunities within product and process development
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Support knowledge sharing and competence development within the organization.
• International collaboration (mainly Sweden).

• Knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamics

Qualifications & experience:

• Master’s degree within Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field) , Physiscs or equivalent qualification
• Few years of working experience and/or PhD experience within the competence field
• Good knowledge of CFD simulations

Preferred (Non Mandatory) Skills

• Experience in heat exchanger design, development, or related technology roles
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials for heat exchangers.
• Experience working in multinational or matrix organizations.

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The starting base salary for this role is 40.000€, CCNL METALWORKING.
