Job summary

CommScope is seeking a maintenance engineer for our Genova site to manage production equipment, implement PM schedules, and reduce downtime through proactive fault diagnosis and quick troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates will have BE or Diploma in Electronics/Electrical with hands-on experience in cable manufacturing and strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, drives, and sensors. Join us to uphold 5S and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • BE in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • OR Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting of cable manufacturing lines and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Strong exposure to preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC, HMI, AC/DC Drives (parameterization, fault diagnostics, tuning, basic commissioning), AC/DC motors.
  • Working knowledge of Industrial sensors like proximity, photoelectric, encoders, load cells, temperature Controllers, pressure transducer.
  • Hands-on experience in identifying and resolving issues related to Drive faults, signal interruptions, Field wiring, control panels, and power distribution systems.
  • Basic Understanding of Mechanical Gearbox, Bearings, Pneumatic, Hydraulics, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute PMs as per schedule.
  • Close breakdown calls and minimize breakdown time.
  • Control MTBF & MTTR.
  • Escalate pending jobs to higher ups.
  • Adhere to safety norms and 5S standards.
  • Maintain maximum uptime of machinery.
  • Troubleshoot equipment quickly.
  • Develop/modify machines, tools, fixtures.

Job description

It includes setting and executing PM schedules, breakdown maintenance, setting up new machinery / new lines, keeping track of engineering spares. Should be ready to work in shifts

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
  • Executing PMs as per schedule.
  • Attending and closing breakdown calls & keeping the breakdown time under control.
  • Controlling MTBF & MTTR
  • Escalating any pending jobs to higher ups.
  • Following all the safety norms and ensuring no norms are violated in any process.
  • Maintaining 5S standards of the highest level.
  • Keeping track of spare consumption and highlighting any deviations.
  • Adherence to all compliances
  • Maintain maximum uptime of the machinery
  • Quick troubleshooting on equipment
  • Maintaining highest standards of 5S and safety
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.
  • Able to work in 3 shifts (rotational)
  • Able to work with Gearbox, Bearings, Pneumatics, Motors, Lubrication
  • Able to develop/modify machine, tools, fixtures
Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Ability to work to tight time schedules and deadlines and meet changing demands, required by management.
  • Hands-on experience in PLC and Drive Programming (Basic ladder logic modifications)
  • Strong capability to adapt to dynamic production priorities and support urgent operational requirements as directed by management
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for maintenance data analysis, breakdown trend tracking, MTBF/MTTR reporting.
  • Working knowledge of SAP PM Module for maintenance planning, work order management, spare parts tracking, and documentation
  • Practical understanding and implementation of Kaizen, continuous improvement initiatives, and cost-reduction projects
  • Exposure to root cause analysis (RCA), 5 Why, and corrective/preventive action implementation
