Job summary

TE Connectivity is hiring a Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer to join our team in the cable assembly domain. You will lead process development, design tooling, and drive cost optimization for NPI projects, coordinating PFMEA and DFM reviews with a global supplier base.

Strong Lean manufacturing experience and English communication skills are required. Responsibilities include leading PFMEA, coordinating pilot runs, and ensuring process capability meets engineering and customer

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Automation/Industrial/Mechanical with 3+ years in cable assembly.
  • Extensive knowledge of cable assembly technologies (cutting, crimping, welding).
  • Experience developing customized machinery and automation solutions.
  • Strong Lean manufacturing knowledge and process improvement mindset.
  • Project management experience and ability to work in a matrix, multicultural environment.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process development, define processes, and optimize costs.
  • Design concepts for cable assembly processes and tooling; perform DOE.
  • Drive manufacturability and cost feasibility reviews during product design.
  • Coordinate DFM reviews and PFMEA with cross-functional teams.
  • Specify serial assembly tooling (manual to fully automatic) with suppliers.
  • Oversee equipment qualification documentation per TE standards.
  • Manage cost, timing, and quality in NPI or strategic projects.
  • Lead PFMEA and monitor progress during tool/equipment builds.
  • Coordinate pilot runs and resolve engineering issues to meet specs.

Job Overview

In the function as Process Development Engineer, you are part of the project teams for New Product In-troduction (NPI). Main responsibility is the development of the needed manufacturing processes / equip-ment / specifications for the project/product.
The internal interfaces are Project lead (PJM), Product Engineering (PE), Plant, Procurement, Cost Ac-counting and Quality. External Contact will be mainly machines and tools suppliers.

Job Requirements
  • Entire Process development technical leader Including Process Define, Ball Parking, cost optimiza-tion
  • Concept design for cable assembly process and tooling, DOE Experiment Design
  • Challenge Product Design for Manufacturability and cost feasibility
  • Coordinate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review, and initiate Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with core team members.
  • Create concept and specification for request of serial assembly (manual, semi-automatic, full-automatic) in cooperation with the responsible team member
  • Configuration of the best possible equipment / processes to create cost calculation for manage-ment presentation/decision
  • Discuss, review and approve design for of tool/fixture/equipment with outside supplier.
  • Follow up the documentations for equipment qualification using TE standard
  • Follow up of cost, timing and quality in NPI or strategic projects
  • Lead the PFMEA or process under development
  • Control of progress steps during tool / equipment build phase (global supply base)
  • Check of tool / equipment for release acc. Specification
  • Run Acceptance test (at supplier / plant) of the equipment for release acc. Specification (R@R)
  • Coordinate pilot run for new products and solve engineering issues, make sure the manufac-turing process capability meet engineering, quality and customer requirement.
What your background should look like
  • Hold an engineering degree ( Bac+5) with a specialization in Automation, Industrial, or mechanical Engineering with more than 3 years of experience cable assembly industry
  • Experience and Extensive knowledge in the field of cable assembly technologies ( cutting, crimp-ing, welding, etc)
  • Experience and knowledge in the development of customized machine.
  • Extensive understanding of LEAN manufacturing processes
  • Experience in project management
  • Customer orientation and high level of commitment
  • Willingness to drive continuous improvements
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with a multicultural team
