City of Attleboro Public Library is seeking a Technical Services Supervisor to oversee the library’s technical services operations under the Library Director. You will supervise staff and volunteers, manage ordering, cataloging, and records for annual reports, and assist at desks as needed.

Requires an Associate’s degree in library science or a related field and three years of experience in library technical services, or an equivalent combination.

Technical Services Supervisor

City of Attleboro Public Library

Salary Range: $30.71 - $40.28 per hour

The City of Attleboro Public Library is seeking a Technical Services Supervisor. Under the direction of the Library Director, this position performs professional administrative and supervisory work overseeing the Library’s technical services operations.

Responsibilities include ordering new library materials, maintaining the catalog of library holdings using an automated system, supervising technical services employees and volunteers, and maintaining records for annual reports. The Technical Services Supervisor may also assist at the circulation, reference, or children’s service desks as needed and performs other related duties as required.

Requires an Associate’s degree in library science or a related field and three years of experience in library technical services, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A Bachelor’s degree in library science or a related field is preferred.

Candidates must have thorough knowledge of library principles and procedures, working knowledge of library reference materials, and thorough knowledge of computers and library computer applications. The position also requires the ability to supervise employees and strong oral and written communication skills.
