Apave Italia CPM in Bienno (BS), Italy, is seeking a Technical Inspector to support the Nuclear division. You will perform manufacturing surveillance, conformity assessments, and documentation reviews at supplier facilities, adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires a technical diploma or higher degree, at least 5 years in heavy industry inspections, and expertise with RCC-M and PED 2014/68/EU. You will draft detailed inspection reports in English and manage non-conformances.

Competenze

To support our expanding Nuclear division, Apave Italia CPM is actively recruiting a Technical Inspector in Bienno (BS), Italy.

Let’s walk you through your day-to-day

Once you've completed your onboarding, you'll undertake various assignments:

Operating with high autonomy, you will conduct manufacturing surveillance, conformity assessments, and data reviews at supplier workshops manufacturing safety-related mechanical and pressure equipment.

Perform and verify acceptance of shop inspections, surveillance activities, and testing (including dimensional, welding, and hydrostatic tests) delineated by the applicable Quality Plans and the RCC-M Code.

Attend established control points at manufacturer facilities, acting as the independent eye for the client (Hold Points, Witness Points, and Review Points).

Review the manufacturer's Quality Assurance Programs, ensuring all fabrication steps comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) and specific project specifications.

Verify material traceability and structural conformity of materials and related certificates (e.g., EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2) against RCC-M or PED 2014/68/UE requirements.

Review welding documentation (WPS, WPQR) and NDE operator qualifications to verify total code compliance prior to components being signed off.

Draft highly detailed, comprehensive Inspection Reports and Log Activities in fluent English. Formally document and manage any Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) detected during the process.

Contract type : Permanent (subject to a probationary period) framed under the "CCNL Metalmeccanico"

Availability : Must be comfortable working in demanding workshop or field environments (climbing scaffolding entry into confined spaces, adherence to strict radiation exposure protocols when applicable). Fully available for short-term travel

First of all, your diplomas, qualifications & experience :

  • Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a Higher Level Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing inspections within heavy mechanics, high-pressure equipment, or power sectors.
  • Is a highly preferred expertise in the application of the RCC-M Code and the PED (2014/68/EU). Strong alignment with nuclear safety culture.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Documented background in welding inspection (e.g., IWI, IWS, or equivalent proficiency) and familiarity with ISO 9712 NDE standards.
