Deel is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Tech Lead to shape the core platform used by hundreds of engineers daily. You will guide technical direction, design scalable infra, and stay hands-on with architecture and code to enable rapid, global service provisioning.

Competenze

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years focused on infrastructure (AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps).
• 2+ years as a technical lead with distributed, cross-timezone teams.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS).
• Kubernetes architecture and operator/control plane experience.
• Relational DB experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and scaling within platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Bias for action and well-documented decisions.
• Strong collaboration across DevOps, DBA, InfoSec, and product teams.

As Infrastructure Tech Lead at Deel, you shape the core platform that hundreds of engineers rely on daily. You’ll guide the technical direction, design scalable infrastructure, and stay hands-on with architecture and code. Your work enables rapid, global service provisioning, secure operations, and observable systems at scale. You’ll join a high-velocity, engineering-led team that values execution and cross-functional collaboration. • Design and implement infrastructure patterns and primitives on Kubernetes to support a growing microservices ecosystem
• Shape roadmap and act as technical lead, balancing architecture, delivery, and developer experience
• Lead incident response, automate toil, and reduce noise with engineering solutions
• Automate service provisioning, database setups, and environment registrations for rapid deployments
• Drive edge routing, traffic management, and migrations of large-scale backend workloads
• Oversee secrets management and security posture, including zero-downtime rotations
• Evolve the observability stack with OpenTelemetry and scalable logging
• Develop real-time platform capabilities (e.g., WebSocket workloads) and agentic infrastructure
• Collaborate with DevOps, DBA, InfoSec, and product engineering to align on goals
• Represent infra domain in architectural discussions and resolve multi-team challenges
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years focused on infrastructure (AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, CNCF landscape)
• 2+ years as a technical lead with distributed, cross-timezone teams
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS)
• Kubernetes architecture and operational experience (operators/controllers, platform primitives)
• Relational databases experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and scaling within platforms
• Proven delivery track record from inception to shipping
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
