Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax experience from a law firm or equivalent in-house role.
• Strong tax technical knowledge.
• Advanced drafting and redlining skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment without compromising on quality.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and negotiating tax insurance policy wordings on Italian and European transactions.
• Responding to insured counsel comments and proposed amendments to policy language.
• Drafting bespoke endorsements, exclusions, limitations, and tax-specific coverage provisions.
• Advising underwriters internally on wording risk and legal interpretation issue.
• Stress-testing wording against potential claims scenarios and litigation outcomes.
• Helping maintain and update precedent wordings, clause libraries, and internal knowledge resources.
• Working closely with tax underwriters and claims teams on complex technical points.
• Assessing whether requested wording changes materially alter the insurer’s risk position.
• Analysing transaction documents (SPAs, disclosure letters, tax deeds, structuring memos).

This is an opportunity with a market leading underwriter for an experienced Tax Lawyer to build a career in the Insurance industry whilst still utilising their legal experience.
