Job summary

Keysight Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Software Solution Architect to define and implement robust software quality processes for bespoke test and measurement solutions. The role focuses on ISO standards, QA strategies, and cross‑functional collaboration across R&D and product teams.

Based in Rome, the successful candidate will lead audits, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement of software quality within the SDLC, engaging with international teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering with a focus on quality assurance and process improvement.
• In‑depth knowledge of quality management standards and frameworks, including ISO 9001 and AS9100D.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain software quality processes in accordance with ISO standards.
• Ensure all software development activities comply with ISO software quality standards and best practices.
• Perform system analysis, risk assessment, and develop strong test strategies by reviewing product designs and collaborating with product managers and developers.
• Develop and maintain documentation for quality processes, plans, procedures, and guidelines.
• Provide training and mentorship on ISO standards and quality processes to the development team.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to quality processes and identify improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate quality processes across the SDLC.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Solution Architect to join our team, focusing on defining and implementing a robust software quality process for developing customized software solutions in the Test and Measurement market. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of software quality standards and a strong background in software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Quality Process Development: Define, implement, and maintain software quality processes in accordance with ISO standards to ensure high-quality software development.
• Standards Compliance: Ensure all software development activities comply with relevant ISO software quality standards and best practices.
• Perform system analysis, risk assessment, and develop strong test strategies by reviewing product designs, technical specifications, and collaborating with product managers and developers.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for software quality processes, including quality plans, procedures, and guidelines.
• Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to the software development team on ISO standards and quality processes.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to quality processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including software developers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of quality processes throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience in software engineering, with a focus on quality assurance and process improvement.
• In‑depth knowledge of quality management standards and frameworks, including ISO 9001 and AS9100D, and their application to software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, or Python.
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Experience

• Proven experience in defining and implementing software quality processes.
• Experience in the Test and Measurement market or related industries is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in a senior or lead software engineering role.

Scope

The Software Solution Architect will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of software quality for our customized solutions in the Test and Measurement market and be part of an international team focused on solutions acquisition and development, organized into technology and industry teams, including Wireless, Aerospace and Defense, and Digital.

The role requires local and international cooperation with colleagues worldwide and various R&D centers.
