Job summary

Baker Hughes in Italy seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer focusing on casting and forging. You will manage supplier quality, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement to reduce defects and cost of quality through robust corrective actions.

You hold a degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, know metallurgy and NDT methods, read drawings, and are fluent in English with Italian or French. Travel up to 50% and to the France plant is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of process metallurgy, metallography, castings solidification, hot metal working, welding, NDT (VT/PT/MT/UT/RX).
• Ability to read technical drawings and product specifications.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards (as a minimum).
• Fluency in English; Italian or French also required.
• EU Work Permit.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and to Fougerolles-Saint-Valbert, France.

Responsibilities

• Support supplier RCA and corrective action plans after NCR.
• Implement Quality Development Plans for eligible suppliers.
• Qualify suppliers according to company rules.
• Move out periodic audits to verify compliance with company requirements.
• Support Deviation Request management and cross-functional quality improvements.

As a Supplier Quality Engineering - Casting and Forging, you will be responsible to manage any quality/technical aspect related to supplier's delivered products. All activities have tight relationship with other functions, i.e. Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistic and Procurement. The main goal is to continuously improve the supplier's Quality level, reducing both escaping defects and associated cost of quality, while growing and developing the supply base as per business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the suppliers in the execution of defects root cause analysis (RCA) and support the definition of robust plan of corrective actions (CA) after related Non-Conformity Record (NCR)
• Implement Quality Development Plans for eligible suppliers
• Qualify the suppliers according to Company rules
• Move out periodic Audits to verify compliance with company requirements
• Check the on-the-job inspections according to the Quality Control Plans
• Support the suppliers on Deviation Request (SDR) management
• Support cross-functional activities to improve Suppliers Quality

To be successful in this role you will:

• Hold a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent work experience in castings and forgings areas
• Have technical knowledge of process metallurgy and metallography, castings solidification, hot metal working, laboratory testing, welding techniques, NDTs (VT, PT, MT, UT, RX) and CNC machining + basics of painting
• Be able to read and understand technical drawings and product specifications
• Have perfect knowledge of Quality Standards (ISO9001 as a minimum)
• Be fluent in English
• Be fluent in Italian or French
• Be proficient in PC & office software
• Hold a EU Work Permit
• Be available to travel frequently (almost 50% of the time)
• Be available to travel for 3, 4 days a month to the Baker Hughes plant in Fougerolles-Saint-Valbert (France)
