Overview

STUDIO MANAGER (Maremma / Hybrid)

We are looking for a highly skilled and internationally connected Studio Manager to support a leading contemporary artist in running an ambitious studio practice. You will act as a trusted partner to the artist, ensuring that projects, exhibitions, and collaborations are delivered at the highest level. The role is about enabling the artist to focus on the creative work, while you oversee operations, coordination, and external relations.

You will lead a small core team (2–3 staff members) and work with freelancers and external partners as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Support the artist by overseeing daily studio operations, ensuring smooth workflows and freeing time for creative work
  • Lead and support a small team and coordinate freelancers and collaborators
  • Manage scheduling, budgets, systems, and studio resources
  • Coordinate production with fabricators and vendors, ensuring high-quality results on time and within budget
  • Oversee logistics : fabrication, shipping, installation, and documentation
  • Act as the main point of contact for galleries, institutions, and collectors, and nurture a strong international network
  • Contribute to sales processes, proposals, and strategic outreach
  • Supervise inventory, archives, and contracts
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in studio management, project coordination, or production within the contemporary art world
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and external partners
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; able to manage complex international projects
  • Established contacts and understanding of the international art world
  • Skilled in building and maintaining professional relationships at senior level
  • Fluent in English; Italian highly desirable
  • Deep knowledge of contemporary art, exhibition production, and sales processes
