The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Structured Finance Associate for a leading European IPP in Milan. The role centers on arranging and executing financing solutions for renewable energy projects, engaging with lenders, advisers and senior management.

You will work with investment, M&A, development and finance teams to build robust financial models and advance transactions from development through operation in a dynamic and growing IPP setting.

Competenze

• 3–6 years' experience in project/structured finance.
• Experience in IPP, renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong financial modelling skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transaction workstreams.
• Fluent English; Italian language skills would be advantageous.

European Renewable Energy IPP | Milan, Italy

The Opportunity

We are working with a fast-growing European Independent Power Producer (IPP) looking to appoint a Structured Finance Associate to its team in Milan.

The business develops, invests in, finances, owns and operates renewable energy assets across multiple European markets, with a growing portfolio across solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS).

The Structured Finance Associate will play a key role in arranging and executing financing solutions across the company's development and operational portfolio. Working closely with the investment, M&A, development and finance teams, the successful candidate will have significant exposure to lenders, institutional investors, advisers and senior management.

This is an attractive opportunity for someone looking to move into a principal-side environment and take greater ownership of financing transactions across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the structuring, execution and closing of project finance and structured finance transactions across renewable energy and BESS projects.
• Build, maintain and review detailed financial models covering debt sizing, project returns, sensitivities and financing scenarios.
• HoldCo and portfolio financing

• Corporate and structured debt solutions
• Support negotiations with commercial banks, infrastructure debt funds and other financing institutions.
• Prepare lender materials, financing presentations, information packs and internal investment papers.
• Manage and coordinate financing due diligence across technical, legal, tax, insurance and commercial workstreams.
• Review and support the negotiation of term sheets, facility agreements and other financing documentation.
• Work closely with internal M&A and investment teams to assess financing assumptions for acquisitions and new investment opportunities.
• Support the financing of projects from development through construction and into operations.
• Analyse project economics, including power price assumptions, PPAs, merchant exposure, CAPEX, OPEX and debt capacity.
• Monitor existing financing arrangements, covenant compliance and refinancing opportunities across the operating portfolio.
• Develop and maintain relationships with European banks, debt funds, advisers and other financing partners.
• Support senior management in developing the group's broader financing and capital structure strategy.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Approximately 3–6 years' relevant experience within project finance, structured finance, infrastructure finance or renewable energy.
• Experience gained within an IPP, renewable energy developer, infrastructure investor, investment bank, commercial bank, debt fund or financial advisory business.
• Strong financial modelling capabilities and confidence working with complex project finance models.
• Previous transaction experience within renewable energy, power or infrastructure.
• Understanding of project finance structures, debt sizing, DSCR, sensitivities and project-level cash flows.
• Exposure to financing documentation and lender due diligence processes.
• Strong analytical and commercial judgement.
• Ability to manage several transaction workstreams simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with lenders, advisers and senior internal stakeholders.
• A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset suited to a growing IPP environment.
• Fluent English; Italian language skills would be highly advantageous.
