Job summary

FAO is seeking a Programme Officer in Rome to coordinate and monitor the NFO portfolio within the Forestry Division. The role focuses on implementing and evaluating programmes, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with FAO policies and funding requirements.

The candidate will work under the Senior Coordinator (NFO Support Hub) and contribute to risk management, reporting and knowledge management across FAO’s programmes.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field (master’s or equivalent).
• Five years of relevant experience in project or programme management or related field.
• Proficient English; working knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Participates in development, implementation and evaluation of programmes/projects; monitors progress.
• Reviews documents, identifies issues and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties.
• Prepares background papers, analyses, reports and inputs to publications.
