Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Santa Palomba, Italy, is seeking a Transport, Logistics & Warehouse Operations Specialist to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and punctual handling of goods throughout the transport chain and within the warehouse.

You will coordinate shipments from suppliers across Europe, manage SAP-based inventory and documentation, and drive improvements in material storage, traceability, and compliance to Hitachi Energy standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, or supply chain functions within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with SAP ERP systems, including data extraction, analysis, and transaction processing.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles, stock accuracy methodologies, and annual physical inventory processes.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Project Management, Finance, and Controlling.
• Good understanding of internal controls, compliance, and procedures related to inventory management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Effective communication in a multicultural and international environment; fluent Italian and good English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project managers to arrange collection of goods from multiple countries and organize delivery to the warehouse or client's site.
• Identify, gather, and prepare documentation for export, import, and triangular trade of goods.
• Engage freight carriers and scheduling inbound and outbound shipments; track shipments and resolve transit issues.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents for domestic and international shipments.
• Handle requests for quotations and negotiate with carriers for shipping rates and services.
• Monitor inventory and ensure accuracy through regular cycle counts and SAP-based processes.
• Manage material damages, losses, claims, and escalate as needed.
• Scrap obsolete materials in compliance with Italian law and company standards.
• Lead continuous improvement projects for material management and warehouse processes.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and Hitachi Energy policies.
