Hitachi Rail is seeking a motivated Materials Management Technician to thrive in a fast-paced environment in Milan, Italy. The role covers administration to strategy, focusing on planning, purchasing, and supplier coordination to support project execution.

The successful candidate will bring experience in supply chain, cost control, and logistics, with a degree in management engineering and English at least at B2 level.

• Ensure the issuance of an estimate of total external costs for highly complex tenders.
• Plan and forecast external costs during project execution with cost control.
• Provide supply chain inputs to define the integrated project plan.
• Issue and distribute planning/logistics documents to project teams.
• Coordinate planning and logistics between entities to meet project material delivery.
• Manage production launch activities in line with project planning.
• Issue purchase requests to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure supplier logistics and planning documentation aligns with contracts.
• Monitor and report supplier performance (logistics, FAT, delivery).
• Identify mitigation actions for risks or misalignments with supplier performance.
