D-Orbit in Italy is seeking a Space Systems Engineer to join the Space Cloud team. You will own system-level design, derive requirements, define architectures, and support verification and in-orbit operations, collaborating with avionics, ground software, and telecom experts.

You’ll contribute to mission analyses, budgets, and trade studies, liaising with suppliers and customers, while ensuring ECSS/CCSDS compliance.

Competenze

• Experience in space or regulated industries.
• Proficient with requirements engineering and configuration management tools.
• Experience in at least one domain: onboard data handling, payloads, telecommunications, or software.
• Familiarity with ECSS/CCSDS/NASA standards.
• Proficient with MATLAB/Simulink or Python for modelling.
• English language skills mandatory.

Mansioni

• Own system-level design and coherence for missions and products (satellites, payloads).
• Derive, consolidate, and manage system requirements from customer needs and objectives.
• Define and maintain system architectures, interfaces, and ICDs between platform, payload and ground segment.
• Contribute to mission analysis and performance budgets (mass, power, data, thermal, link).
• Lead or support system-level trade-off studies on architecture and make-or-buy decisions.
• Prepare and maintain key systems engineering deliverables (CONOPS, requirements, ICDs, verification plans).
• Plan and support system integration, verification and validation activities.
• Coordinate technical data exchange with suppliers and partners.
• Ensure compliance with space standards and internal processes.
• Provide input for bids and proposals.
