Job summary

Fluid Wire Robotics S.r.l. in Pisa, Italy is seeking a Space Software Engineer to lead flight software development for in‑orbit missions.

You will define the robot API architecture, build the flight software, and ensure seamless integration with the host spacecraft, working with mechatronics and electronics teams. Requirements: Master’s or PhD in CS or software engineering, 5+ years of space software experience, ECSS knowledge, real-time systems, API development, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in computer science or software engineering with 5+ years of hands-on space software development.
• Solid grounding in ECSS space software standards and flight-model software deployment.
• Real-time systems and space RTOS.
• API development.
• Satellite communication stacks and embedded C-family development.

Responsibilities

• Define the robot API architecture and flight software for the payload.
• Integrate software with host spacecraft systems and ground-station links.
• Collaborate with mechatronics and electronics teams to test and refine architecture.
• Work toward the 2028 in-orbit demonstration.
• Hands-on with in-house robotic hardware for validation.
