Job summary

Valmet in Italy, Toscana, seeks a Software Technician to combine software expertise with automation on converting roll machines. You will commission and optimize software at customer sites, troubleshoot, and support worldwide.

• Technical school diploma or degree in Electronics, Software, Automation, Informatics, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience as a Software Technician in manufacturing; experience in the converting industry is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, controls engineering, and machine safety systems including Siemens S7/TIA Portal and Rockwell.

Responsibilities

• Perform software checkout, commissioning, and startup activities for converting roll machines at customer sites and remotely.
• Troubleshoot software, process, machinery, and tooling issues to ensure reliable equipment performance during testing and production.
• Carry out maintenance activities, quality checks, and performance reviews while recommending upgrades and spare parts.
• Train customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with technical teams to improve software programming and develop enhanced automation solutions.
