Nokia in Lucca, Toscana, Italy, seeks a Silicon Photonics Design Engineer to develop IC-based photonic products from design to fabrication and testing. You will work with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements and validate designs in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in silicon photonics, hands-on device design skills, and proficiency with optical and RF simulation tools. Strong coding in Python/C++ is required.

Competenze

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or Applied Physics.
• 2+ years of experience in silicon photonics design, testing, and characterization.
• Hands-on experience with silicon photonic device design, characterization, and modeling.

• Own Tx and/or Rx PIC designs and communicate performance requirements to cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate optical link budgets, RFEO performance, and power consumption to verify against requirements.
• Define test requirements and collaborate with test teams to develop comprehensive test plans.
• Generate PIC performance documents to track performance across R&D and production variants.
• Evaluate new design approaches and drive device-level and system-level optimization.

As a Silicon Photonics Design Engineer, you will help develop silicon photonics IC-based products from design to fabrication and testing.
