Nokia is hiring a Silicon Photonics Design Engineer in Lombardia, Vimercate. You will develop PIC/photonic IC-based products, owning designs from concept through fabrication and testing.

You will collaborate with mixed-signal, substrate, and packaging teams to meet system requirements and optimize photonic chips. Ideal candidates have hands-on silicon photonics experience, proficiency with optical/RF tools, and strong programming skills.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or Applied Physics.
• Hands-on silicon photonics device design, characterization, and modeling.
• Proficient with optical and RF simulation tools and photonic circuit design.
• 2+ years of silicon photonics design, testing, and characterization.

Responsabilités

• Own Tx and/or Rx PIC designs and communicate performance and requirements to cross-functional teams.
• Define test requirements and collaborate on test plans for coverage of requirements.
• Own PIC performance documents to track performance across design variants.
• Evaluate new design approaches and innovate device- and system-level optimizations.
