ENGIE Italia is seeking a POWER Short Term Trader & Operations Specialist in Rome to optimize asset dispatch and trading activity within the Assets Optimization and Trading team. The role focuses on maximizing margins across Day Ahead, Intraday and ancillary markets while managing risk and ensuring accurate reporting.

The candidate should have a finance/economics background, strong quantitative skills, and familiarity with energy markets, trading environments, Python and Excel.

Competenze

• Degree in Finance/Economics.
• Excellent attitude in quantitative analysis and probabilistic model.
• Knowledge of energy markets is a plus; knowledge of trading environment is a strong plus.

Mansioni

• Manage Power Asset: spot market dispatching and optimization (Day Ahead, Intraday, Ancillaries).
• Optimize bidding on power balancing markets based on probabilistic models to maximize margins.
• Manage Short Term Trading positions within the allowed risk mandate and ensure accuracy of daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
• Settlement & Margin Operations: Execute end-to-end settlement processes and daily margin calculations for Engie Assets and Short Term Trading activities.
• Propose improvement of models, processes & IT tools and follow up implementation.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

POWER Short Term Trader & Operation specialist candidate will be part of Assets Optimization and Trading (AOT, one of the local Business Entities of Global Energy management Italy –S&EM Italy– ). His/her role will be contributing to create value around S&EM Italian assets & Trading.

Based on its perimeter defined by Assets Optimization and Trading Manager the candidate will:

• Manage Power Asset: spot market dispatching and Optimization (Day Ahead; Intraday, Ancillaries markets) defining and execute the best strategies on the spot energy markets (Day Ahead; Intraday, Ancillaries markets)) in order to maximize the margin and minimize risks;
• Through analysis on power balancing markets based on probabilistic models, optimize the bidding and maximize margins;
• Manage Short Term Trading positions within the allowed risk mandate and ensuring correctness of the related reporting on daily, weekly and monthly basis;
• Settlement & Margin Operations: Execute end-to-end settlement processes and daily margin calculations for Engie Assets and Short Term Trading activities;
• Propose improvement of models, processes & IT tools and follow up implementation.

ABOUT YOU:

Degree/Experience:

• Degree in Finance/Economics;
• Excellent attitude in quantitative analysis and probabilistic model;
• Knowledge of energy markets is a plus;
• Knowledge of trading environment is a strong plus.

Language, IT

• Fluent English. Italian is a plus. Willingness to learn it asap;
• Proficient knowledge of Python and Excel (possibly VBA).

The gross annual salary for the role ranges between €41.600 and €49.000, depending on experience and level of seniority.
