Avio Aero in Bari, Italy, seeks an experienced Design Engineer to own the full CAD/CAM cycle for advanced repair solutions, including geometry acquisition, machining, and post-deposition validation.
You will define tooling concepts, program ABB/KUKA robot paths, support operators, and develop CAM methods for aircraft engine repairs, collaborating with global teams. Proficiency in Italian and English is required.
We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join the Apulia Repair Development Centre in Bari, supporting the development of advanced repair solutions through additive technologies for commercial and military engine components. In this role, you will oversee the full CAD/CAM process, including component geometry acquisition via laser scanning, CAD model processing, CAM toolpath definition, part program creation and verification, support to the deposition process, and post-processing of repaired component geometries. All activities will be carried out in compliance with company standards and regulations. The position also involves contributing to technical assessments and production processes, working in a dynamic international environment and collaborating closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, and university partners. A strong Lean mindset is expected to help improve manufacturability and producibility through continuous development of advanced CAD/CAM technologies.
