Midsummer Italia, part of the Swedish solar-energy group Midsummer, is expanding its Bari production footprint and seeks a Service Engineer to install and maintain equipment for solar cell production.

You will diagnose mechanical faults, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, replace or repair components, support commissioning, and document issues, in a small, collaborative team with opportunities to grow.

Competenze

• High school diploma required; ITS qualification is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of systematic machine maintenance and hands-on mechanical skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work; fluent English.

About The Role

As a Service Engineer in the mechanical support/assembly team at Midsummer, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the equipment for production of solar cells. You will be part of a small team that works closely together, to find solutions to small and large problems and challenges in our production of solar panels.

Main tasks of the role

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults
• Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on machines
• Replace or repair defective mechanical components
• Support mechanical checks during commissioning
• Document mechanical issues, interventions, and resolutions

To feel comfortable in this role at Midsummer, you need to appreciate having your own responsibility and at the same time working in a team that supports each other.

You like fast pace and are not afraid to make decisions when necessary. You have very good communication skills and collaborate easily with people from all kinds of industries and backgrounds. Furthermore, you are quality-oriented and structured, but at the same time can adapt to an organization that is growing where all routines are not yet established.

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma is required. A post-secondary qualification from an Istituto Tecnico Superiore (ITS) is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of systematic machine maintenance
• Willingness and ability to travel for work
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Have forklift drivers licence

Merits

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another a technical or relevant engineering field.
• Experience working with vacuum equipment
