Job summary

Marioff Corporation is seeking a Service Engineer to install, commission, inspect and maintain HI-FOG Water Mist Fire Protection Systems on Oil & Gas facilities, including offshore platforms. The role requires a strong technical background, proactive customer service, and strict safety compliance.

Travel will be up to 80–90% internationally, with offshore deployments and emergency interventions. Fluent Italian and English are required, and a technical diploma in a relevant field is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial automation, marine engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: few years in a role with similar responsibilities.
• Languages: fluent Italian and English, spoken and written.

Position Summary

The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modernization of Marioff HI-FOG® Water Mist Fire Protection Systems installed on Oil & Gas facilities, including offshore platforms, FPSOs, refineries, petrochemical plants, LNG terminals, and other industrial facilities.

The role requires a strong technical background, a proactive approach to customer service, and the ability to work safely in demanding industrial environments while ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning and start-up activities for Marioff fire protection systems.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities on HI-FOG® Water Mist Systems.
• Conduct inspections, system testing, and performance verification.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues.
• Prepare detailed service reports and technical documentation following site activities.
• Support emergency call-outs and unplanned maintenance interventions.
• Ensure compliance with customer safety requirements and Marioff standards.
• Participate in shutdowns, turnarounds, and planned maintenance campaigns.
• Interface directly with customers, contractors, and site management personnel.
• Recommend system improvements, upgrades, and modernization opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of spare parts consumption and service activities.
• Support training activities for customers and end-users when required.
• Follow all applicable HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) regulations and permit-to-work procedures.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Industrial Automation
  • Marine Engineering
  • Equivalent technical discipline

Required Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Few years of experience in a position with similar responsibilities
• Strong communications skills with fluent Italian and English language knowledge, spoken and written
• Understanding of electrical control panels and instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret:
  • P&IDs
  • Electrical schematics
  • Mechanical drawings
  • Technical manuals
• Familiarity with pumps, valves, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and service reporting tools.

It would be an advantage if you have any of the following certifications:

• HUET
• Working at Heights
• Confined Space Entry
• Offshore Medical Certification
• First Aid and CPR

Travel Requirements

• Up to 80–90% international travel.
