Movimento Italiano Diritti Detenuti is seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to own SEO, GEO and AEO. You will work with Product, Engineering, Content and Communications to shape technical and content strategies.

You will lead both on-page and technical SEO, define structured data, and monitor AI-powered discovery. This role offers autonomy, collaboration, and impact in a social‑impact tech project based in Milan.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on SEO experience.
• Strong technical SEO expertise including site architecture and Core Web Vitals.
• Experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, SEMrush or Ahrefs.
• Ability to balance technical SEO, data, and content strategy.
• Excellent Italian and good English for collaboration.

To help these products reach the people who need them, we are looking for an experienced SEO Specialist who wants to go beyond traditional search optimisation and own how our content is discovered across Google, answer engines and AI-powered search.

About The Role

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is not a purely executional SEO role. You will join our product team as the go‑to person for SEO, GEO and AEO, working closely with Product, Engineering, Content and Communications.

You will have real ownership: identifying opportunities, defining priorities and influencing both our technical roadmap and content strategy.

As the way people search changes rapidly, you will help build our approach to GEO/AEO (Generative & Answer Engine Optimisation) - understanding how generative AI platforms discover, interpret, surface and reference our content.

You will not simply inherit an SEO playbook. You will help shape it.

What You'll Work On

• Lead technical and on-page SEO, independently identifying opportunities and prioritising improvements.
• Define and maintain structured data, including Schema.org and JSON-LD, while contributing to information architecture decisions.
• Develop our GEO/AEO approach and monitor visibility and traffic from AI-powered platforms.
• Build keyword strategies and actionable content briefs for the content team.
• Work directly with developers on redirects, crawlability, crawl budget and robots.txt.
• Analyse rankings, organic visibility and traffic, translating data into clear recommendations.
• Stay ahead of algorithm changes and emerging SEO/GEO practices, bringing new ideas and priorities to Product.

What We're Looking For

• 4-6 years of hands‑on SEO experience, gained in-house, at an agency or as a consultant.
• Strong technical SEO expertise, including site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data/Schema.org, redirects and crawl management.
• Solid experience with Google Search Console, GA4 and tools such as Screaming Frog, SEMrush or Ahrefs.
• The ability to move comfortably between technical SEO, data and content strategy.
• A proactive mindset and the confidence to define priorities, rather than simply execute a predefined roadmap.
• Excellent Italian and a good level of English for direct collaboration with our technical team.

EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE

Experience with GEO/AEO and optimisation for AI answer engines would be a strong plus, as would hands‑on knowledge of JSON‑LD and complex @graph markup.

An interest in social impact, restorative justice and employment reintegration would make the match even stronger.
