Analog Devices, Inc. in Italy is seeking an Applications Engineer to design multi-channel RF receivers/transmitters and to develop RF digital converter centric hardware and software from concept through productization.

You will analyze signal chains, liaise with applications and marketing teams, and guide customers through system integration, troubleshooting, and testing across phased-array, radar, and satellite domains.

  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and solving challenging technical problems.
  • BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 7+ years of applicable job experience.
  • Strong knowledge of RF, analog, digital and mixed-signal fundamentals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Written and verbal communications skills are essential.
  • Strong teamwork and inter-personal skills.
  • RF cascade analysis (gain, spurious, linearity, noise figure) and/or mixed-signal experience.
  • Phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite communication or military communication experience a plus.
  • Printed circuit board design experience and exposure to PCB design tools a plus.
  • Lab diagnostic equipment experience (spectrum analyzer, signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.) and MATLAB/Python/C++ scripting a plus.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Design multi-channel digital receivers and transmitters for phased-array, radar, electronic warfare, satellite communication and military communication markets
  • Develop RF digital converter centric hardware & software from concept (block diagrams) through productization
  • Analyze signal chains using RF cascade concepts like Gain, noise figure, linearity, and power.
  • Engage with internal applications and marketing team members to translate their system requirements into next generation product definitions
  • Guide customers through system integration, troubleshooting and testing
Minimum Qualifications
  • The candidate should be self-motivated, capable of accepting responsibility and show initiative in identifying and solving challenging technical problems.
  • BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 7+ years of applicable job experience
  • Strong knowledge of RF, analog, digital and mixed-signal fundamentals
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Written and verbal communications skills is a must

The pay range for this position in Italy is € 52,360 to €75,820. (base salary) This range may change if you are hired in another location. The stated range may be inclusive of several levels within this role and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role who are not located in the primary location may request the applicable pay range for their location during the interview process if an alternative location is an option. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus, the criteria for which are based on company factors and will be shared during the recruitment process. This role may also be eligible for variable compensation, paid annual leave, and supplemental benefits as applicable under local policy and the terms and conditions of employment.
