ABB E-mobility in Italy is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen our quality organization and drive supplier excellence across the global supply base. You will proactively manage quality, compliance, and supply chain risks while partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or similar roles within a complex industrial environment.
• Proven experience managing supplier qualification, development, performance, and risk management activities.
• Strong expertise in supplier auditing, process validation protocols, quality system assessments, and manufacturing process evaluations.
• Extensive knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PSW, and their integration into supplier quality processes.
• Hands-on experience with FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, DMAIC, Design for Six Sigma (DfSS), Root Cause Analysis, and 8D problem solving.
• Strong risk management mindset with ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Ability to lead, influence, and coach suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Good knowledge of ISO 9001 and preferably IATF 16949; familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and automotive quality requirements.
• Excellent English communication; proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP QM.

• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and Procurement to proactively build quality into supplier materials and products.
• Represent Supplier Quality in product development, sourcing, and make-or-buy decisions.
• Lead supplier qualification activities, including approval of new suppliers, sites, processes, and components.
• Plan, lead, and execute supplier audits ensuring ABB requirements and industry standards are met.
• Drive supplier development initiatives through improvement plans and coaching.
• Lead APQP activities and manage PPAP deliverables for supplier readiness and launches.
• Apply risk-based approaches using FMEA, supplier risk-rating, and quality system evaluations.
• Monitor supplier performance via KPIs like DPPM, QNs, audit findings, and escalation triggers.
• Lead SCARs, root cause investigations, and 8D problem solving to closures.
• Collaborate with Product Quality, R&D, Operations, and Procurement to derisk suppliers and support lifecycle management.
