Job summary

Kaigos srl is seeking a Mid/Senior Robotics Engineer to lead perception strategies from 3D reconstruction to real-time tracking during welding. You will shape how parts are perceived, scanned, and understood by autonomous indoor and outdoor robots, contributing to the entire perception stack.

The role requires technical rigor, practical shipping capability, and hands-on work in a fast-growing team building production-grade autonomy for welding and related robotics applications.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Software Engineering (PhD a plus).
• Experience deploying robots in production with real customer requirements.
• Strong background in perception, computer vision and real-time systems.
• Proficient in C++ and Python; comfortable with Linux and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Part reconstruction and seam detection: convert CAD and 3D scan to accurate geometry; identify weld seams reliably.
• Scene perception and 3D reconstruction: build perception for worksite and autonomous robots in varied environments.
• Define sensing strategy: select sensors, calibration, and guide the perception approach for the team.
