Job summary

Fliff Inc. is hiring a Senior Python Engineer to own and evolve high‑performance distributed backend systems. You’ll build with Python, Django, and Kafka, ensuring low latency and high availability for millions of users.

You will align with CET±2 hours for Sofia-based collaboration; fully remote work is offered, with a focus on scalable, observable backend services and on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python backend development with ownership.
• Solid Django experience with asyncio and asynchronous patterns.
• Production experience with Kafka and distributed systems.
• Experience deploying containerized apps with Docker; Kubernetes is a plus.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL; familiarity with NoSQL is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Agile team experience and strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend services from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Design and maintain scalable distributed backend using Python and Django.
• Architect systems to support millions of users with low latency.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps to ship features on tight timelines.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Own APIs, data pipelines, and messaging (Kafka) with caching strategies.
• Optimize for throughput, latency, fault tolerance, and resilience.
• Implement unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Improve development processes and system observability (monitoring, logging).
• Participate in on-call rotations and production issue support.
