Job Description Summary
THE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager to join our PMO team. This individual will lead projects that optimize processes, implement tools, and enhance operational efficiency and governance. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional with approximately four to five years of project management experience to take on greater ownership within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • PMO Operations Development: Partner with PMO leadership to shape and implement operational plans that align with Alira Health’s strategic goals. Own and refine operational metrics to ensure the effectiveness of PMO initiatives, recommending adjustments to leadership as needed. Design and implement frameworks for managing internal governance and accountability across projects.
  • Project Portfolio Management: Lead medium- to large-scale projects and coordinate broader strategic initiatives across multiple stakeholders. Own the creation of project charters, timelines, and reports, ensuring accountability for on-time and on-budget delivery. Use KPIs to assess the success of initiatives and drive process improvements based on data-driven insights.
  • Process Optimization and Innovation: Drive the continuous improvement of PMO and Alira Health processes at the Business Unit level through lean and agile methodologies. Lead the identification and rollout of new tools and technologies that enhance operational efficiency, including software implementation initiatives.
  • Stakeholder and Communication Management: Lead communication across cross-functional teams to align objectives and drive seamless collaboration, serving as a key point of escalation. Own the creation of client governance frameworks to enhance stakeholder satisfaction and project outcomes. Present project performance and operational updates directly to leadership, providing recommendations for course correction.
  • Professional Development and Team Collaboration: Mentor and provide guidance to team members on best practices. Contribute to the professional development of the PMO team by sharing knowledge and lessons learned. Actively participate in a feedback-oriented culture, both giving and receiving constructive input to strengthen team performance.
  • IT Governance: Own oversight of the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Define and track IT-related KPIs and metrics to evaluate project success and system performance. Lead engagements with Business Process Owners to define requirements, manage priorities, and streamline IT and software solutions across departments, including new system implementations. Ensure IT projects adhere to governance standards, including compliance with security and regulatory requirements. Drive communication between the PMO, Operational, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of tools and technologies that support operational objectives.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Healthcare, Operations, Logisitcs, or Life Sciences.
  • Master’s degree in related fields (e.g., Healthcare Management, Engineering, or Economics) strongly preferred.
  • 4-5 years of experience in project management, operations, or related fields, including experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in healthcare is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with the implementation of at least one type of business software solution, such as ERP, PSA, HRIS, CRM, or ATS platforms (e.g., Unit4, OpenAir, SAP, Workday, Salesforce, or similar).
  • Location Barcelona, Spain In-office presence required for the first 6 months, 50% required moving forward
TECHNICAL COMPETENCES & SOFT SKILLS

Technical competencies: Strong analytical skills with the ability to define, track, and interpret KPIs and operational metrics, and translate them into actionable recommendations. Proficiency and experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Proven track record with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., lean, PMP, or agile practices) Proven ability to redesign business processes by combining domain expertise, automation, and generative AI technologies, with a focus on reducing manual effort, improving scalability, and increasing the leverage of senior professionals. Software implementation experience for enterprise software (ERP, PSA, HRIS, CRM, ATS, or similar platforms). Strong command of portfolio management concepts and IT governance principles. Proven experience with operational reporting and performance monitoring. Advanced business English proficiency (written and verbal) Additional languages such as Spanish, Italian, or German are a plus
