Job summary

Scalejet is seeking a Senior Product Designer/Industrial Designer for a remote, full-time engagement. Lead end-to-end design of patient care products from concept to production, translating caregiver feedback and VOC into manufacturable solutions with strong ergonomics and usability.

You will apply materials knowledge, create CAD models, and use FEA to validate designs before prototyping, collaborating with engineers and suppliers to meet cost targets and timelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Industrial Design or Product Design.
• 2+ years designing mass-produced consumer, HME, or DME products.
• Experience taking products from concept to mass production.
• Experience in mechanical design, prototyping, simulation, and testing.
• Experience working with manufacturing and supplier constraints.
• Experience communicating with Asian/Chinese manufacturers.
• Experience designing for marketplaces influenced by public reviews.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Onshape.
• Experience with cost modeling and margin-focused design decisions.
• Strong analytical skills and user-centered design mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design from concept to production-ready solutions.
• Translate briefs, caregiver feedback, VOC data into concepts.
• Apply materials knowledge balancing aesthetics, durability and cost.
• Create CAD models and docs; use FEA to validate before prototyping.
• Design and validate mockups, prototypes and test samples.
• Collaborate with engineers, sourcing, and marketing to balance costs and timelines.
• Optimize design-to-prototype cycle times and efficiency.
• Maintain manufacturability, performance and 4.5+ ratings.
• Communicate with international manufacturing partners.
