SentinelOne is seeking an Offensive Security Researcher in Italy to proactively research new attack techniques, emulate them, and strengthen detection engines. You will build tools and automation to support advanced assessments and work with Threat Intelligence and engineering teams to close gaps in visibility.

The role requires deep malware knowledge, experience with reverse engineering, and proficiency in Python and C/C++.

Competenze

• 4+ years of Red Teaming or security/offensive research with Windows internals.
• Proficient in Python and C/C++.
• In-depth knowledge of malware, evasion, and exploitation techniques.
• Experience in malware analysis (static/dynamic) and reverse engineering (x86/x64).
• Familiarity with existing EDRs internals.
• Experience writing detection signatures.
• Experience using AI workflows for malware analysis and detection tasks.
• Conference talks or publications is a plus.

As an Offensive Security Researcher, you will be tasked with proactively researching the newest and most sophisticated attack techniques and working closely with some of the best security researchers in the industry to shape the future of cyber security. You will bring curiosity, persistence, and a drive to leave no stone unturned in the search for the next bypass.

What Will You Do?

Primary responsibilities include:

• Proactively research and deeply understand the internals of the newest and most sophisticated attack techniques, and emulate these attacks to assess and improve detection engines.
• Build tools to support detection assessments, create proofs of concept for the newest techniques and exploits, and develop automation flows to automate unconventional attacks and offensive frameworks.
• Work closely with the Threat Intelligence team and the research and engineering detection teams to provide guidance and highlight gaps in detection and visibility capabilities.

What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?

Ideal candidates will have:

• 4+ years of experience in Red Teaming / Security Research / Offensive Research with a deep understanding of Windows internals.
• Hands-on experience with coding in Python and C/C++.
• Deep understanding of the malware world (how malware operates, infamous families, evasion and exploitation techniques).
• Experience in malware analysis (statically and dynamically) and reverse engineering (x86/x64).
• Understanding of existing EDRs internals.
• Experience writing detection signatures.
• Experience leveraging agentic AI workflows for malware analysis and detection engineering tasks (reverse engineering, code auditing, signature writing).
• Proven track record of conference speaking at security conferences or publications is an advantage.

This role has a base pay range that applies consistently across Italy, regardless of candidate location.
