Schindler Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to strengthen its RD Mechanical Engineering team in Milan. You will lead design and validation efforts for elevator mechanical components, from concept through release, while guiding junior engineers and ensuring quality, safety and cost targets are met.

The role requires strong CAD, Windchill and engineering documentation skills, plus the ability to collaborate across international teams and maintain manufacturability and serviceability

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design and product development within industrial engineering environments.
• Advanced proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modeling, assemblies and detailed engineering design.
• Strong experience with Windchill and engineering documentation/release processes.
• Proven experience in technical leadership, coordination of engineering activities and mentoring of less experienced engineers.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience performing engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and technical problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively within international and cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of self-motivation, accountability and result orientation.

Mansioni

• Leading the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for elevator systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety and quality requirements.
• Creating and reviewing 3D models, drawings and engineering documentation using PTC Creo and managing product data within Windchill
• Driving technical decision-making and providing engineering guidance across development projects and design reviews
• Performing engineering calculations, tolerance analysis and technical validations to ensure robust and reliable solutions
• Supporting product verification, prototyping and testing activities, analyzing results and implementing corrective actions when required
• Ensuring design-to-cost, manufacturability, maintainability and serviceability throughout the product lifecycle
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams including RD, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and Supply Chain
• Acting as a technical mentor for junior engineers, supporting their development and promoting engineering excellence within the team
