Job summary

Arup Italy is seeking a Senior Mechanical-HVAC Engineer to lead design and delivery of mechanical services for diverse projects, including data centres, across Italy. You will guide interfaces with multidisciplinary teams, liaise with clients on design ambitions, and mentor junior engineers to foster collaboration.

The role offers opportunities to work with international offices, develop sustainable solutions, and participate in design reviews and field visits, with a hybrid working arrangement

Qualifications

• Degree from an Engineering University (Building /Mechanical /Energy/ other relevant) or a relevant technical Diploma.
• Experience with Data Centre and or Industrial buildings
• 6+ years of professional experience into the design and delivery of mechanical services.
• Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals including knowledge of Italian codes and planning phases.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical services (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, drainage, water supply, firefighting, renewable energy systems and controls) and manage key interfaces in multidisciplinary projects and teams.
• Liaise with clients to assist in setting the design ambitions and with project stakeholders to develop the design and the coordination of the mechanical requirements and their impact on the project.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in site visits, client meetings, design reviews and project workshops, gaining valuable industry exposure.
• Cooperate closely with our international offices.
