Neopharmed Gentili Spa in Italy is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist to join the IT Operations team. The role focuses on managing on-premises and cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, performance, and reliability across hybrid environments.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in similar roles, strong Azure expertise, VMware, and networking skills, plus ability to automate and document processes within a regulated industry context.

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or STEM.
• 5+ years in similar roles (System Admin/Infrastructure).
• Strong English communication skills.
• Hands-on with hybrid architectures: on-prem and cloud (Azure).
• Expertise in VMware vSphere, Windows and Linux servers.
• Advanced networking, firewall and security knowledge.
• Experience with backup/recovery (Veeam/Commvault).

Neopharmed Gentili Spa, an Italian pharmaceutical company specialized in the commercialization of high-value therapeutic solutions and a major player in the national pharmaceutical market—currently undergoing significant international expansion is looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist.

Role Description

The resource will join the IT Department's Operations team and will be responsible for the following activities:

• Managing, maintaining, and optimizing the on-premise (physical and virtual) and cloud infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
• Designing, implementing, and administering hybrid architectures, enabling integration between on-premise systems and cloud platforms.
• Ensuring proper management of the network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and firewall devices, and implementing perimeter security policies.
• Defining, implementing, and testing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans to guarantee the resilience of critical systems.
• Collaborating with external vendors for the resolution of complex issues and for the technological evolution of infrastructures.
• Contributing to the definition and optimization of IT infrastructure management processes and creating technical documentation.
• Monitoring system performance, analyzing trends, and proposing innovative solutions for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or STEM disciplines.
• At least 5 years of experience in similar roles (e.g., System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer).
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Strong hands-on experience with hybrid architectures, with direct expertise in both on-premise infrastructures and cloud platforms (particularly Microsoft Azure).
• Virtualization: Excellent knowledge of VMware vSphere platforms.
• Operating Systems: Solid experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
• Networking: Advanced skills in managing complex networks, firewalling, and security (Cisco, Fortinet).
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Familiarity with enterprise solutions such as Veeam or Commvault.
• Scripting & Automation: Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages for process automation.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adopting a service-oriented and collaborative approach.
• Ability to work autonomously, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage priorities.
• Proactivity and strong team-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications in cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or infrastructure (e.g., VMware VCP-DCV, Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience in structured environments.
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceutical) and familiarity with GxP standards.
• Familiarity with monitoring and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of other virtualization platforms.
