Job summary

CDS, an HPE company, is seeking a Senior HPC Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to design, implement, and optimize hardware and software infrastructure for high-performance computing and AI/ML workloads in Rome, Italy.

The role focuses on Linux enterprise environments, HPC cluster administration, GPU-accelerated AI, and advanced networking. On-site duties include incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and coordination with internal and vendor teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Linux enterprise environments.
• HPC cluster administration, workload schedulers, parallel file systems, high-speed networking and GPU-accelerated AI infrastructures.
• Strong technical background in HPC compute platforms, parallel storage systems, InfiniBand/RDMA fabrics, workload management, system integration, firmware lifecycle management, monitoring solutions and performance troubleshooting across complex distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize the hardware and software infrastructure for HPC and AI/ML workloads.
• On-site role requiring autonomy in day-to-day technical operations, incident resolution, root cause analysis, change implementation and coordination with internal specialists and third-party technology vendors.
