NTT DATA Romania is seeking an experienced Senior Google Cloud Engineer to join a large-scale telecommunications environment and contribute to the design, development, and operation of cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

You will focus on data engineering, orchestration, automation, and DevOps, using Dataflow, Dataproc, BigQuery, Airflow, and Cloud Composer. Strong ownership and cross-team collaboration are essential to deliver scalable, secure data platforms.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform including Dataflow, Dataproc, BigQuery, and cloud-native data services.
• Knowledge of GCP IAM, service accounts, monitoring and troubleshooting of cloud workloads.
• Solid understanding of data engineering architectures, ETL/ELT, batch and streaming pipelines.
• Experience with distributed data processing, data modeling, SQL, and large-scale analytics.
• Ability to optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.

Who We Are

We are looking for an experienced Senior Google Cloud Engineer to join a large-scale Telecommunications environment and contribute to the design, development, and operation of cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The role has a strong focus on data engineering, data processing, orchestration, automation, and DevOps practices, using Google Cloud technologies including Dataflow, Dataproc, BigQuery, and Airflow.

The successful candidate will work closely with data engineers, cloud architects, DevOps teams, application teams, and business stakeholders to build reliable, scalable, and automated data platforms.

This is a senior hands‑on engineering position requiring strong technical ownership and the ability to design and implement solutions following cloud and engineering best practices.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform

• Develop and operate batch and streaming data pipelines using Dataflow, Dataproc, and BigQuery

• Build and manage data workflows and orchestration pipelines with Apache Airflow

• Design reliable data ingestion, transformation, processing, and delivery solutions

• Optimize data platforms for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency

• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code using GitLab and DevOps practices

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support data pipelines, cloud services, and deployment environments

• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and engineering standards

• Contribute to architecture, technical design, code reviews, and engineering best practices

• Create and maintain technical documentation

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment

• Mentor junior engineers and support technical knowledge sharing

What you’ll bring along

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including Dataflow, Dataproc, BigQuery, and cloud-native data services

• Knowledge of GCP IAM, service accounts, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud workloads

• Solid understanding of data engineering architectures, ETL/ELT processes, batch and streaming data pipelines

• Experience with distributed data processing, data modeling, SQL, and large‑scale data analytics

• Ability to optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability

• Experience with Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or similar frameworks is a plus

• Strong experience with Apache Airflow, including DAG development, workflow scheduling, dependency management, and pipeline monitoring

• Experience with Google Cloud Composer is an advantage

• Experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD for automated build, test, and deployment processes

• Knowledge of DevOps practices, release automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code principles

• Ability to integrate cloud and data engineering solutions into enterprise CI/CD environments

• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting capabilities

• Ability to own solutions from design through production deployment

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross‑functional teams

• Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
