Job summary

RINA is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division in Genoa or Milan. The role focuses on geotechnical analysis, foundation design, and coordination with multidisciplinary and BIM teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects.

You will lead design efforts, perform advanced numerical modelling, supervise site investigations, and ensure compliance with codes and safety.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical experience with proven project development and design.
Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles and design of foundations, slopes, excavations and soil–structure interaction.
Experience in advanced numerical modelling for static, dynamic and staged-construction analyses.
Experience in planning and supervising geotechnical site investigations including boreholes and lab testing.
Familiarity with BIM workflows and digital engineering, including BIM coordination.

Responsibilities

Lead geotechnical design from concept through construction.
Perform and review analyses for foundations, slopes and soil–structure interaction.
Develop and interpret advanced numerical models for static and dynamic analyses.
Prepare Geotechnical Design Reports, criteria and specifications.
Coordinate with BIM, structural, civil and tunnelling teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
