Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Engineer, Automation & Control, Product Design and Engineering to join our IET team in Italy. You will define the Gas Turbine Control Systems architecture and package philosophy, ensuring safety standards are met while collaborating across engineering disciplines.

You will drive tool improvements, integrate new technology, and support customers worldwide with cost-effective design solutions. Fluency in English is required and travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Control, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Management or CS engineering.
• Proficient in control system design and tools; knowledge of codes/standards.
• Familiar with PLC architectures and industrial safety principles.
• Will travel up to 10% worldwide; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Define Gas Turbine Control Systems architecture per project requirements.
• Define Gas Turbine Package Control philosophy for customer needs.
• Define and verify functional safety requirements (IEC61508/IEC61511).
• Collaborate on control hardware and software design with specialists, suppliers, customers.
• Optimize internal standard solutions and design tools; develop new ideas.
