Zusammenfassung

Arduino is now part of the Qualcomm organisation. Qualcomm Europe, Inc. Italy Branch Office seeks an embedded software engineer to design, develop and debug firmware in C/C++, contributing to open‑source projects and collaborating with hardware teams.

You will prototype from research to production, maintain code quality and participate in conferences and community reviews. A strong background in firmware with 5+ years of experience and fluent English is expected.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
  • 2+ years in Software/Firmware engineering with C/C++.
  • Experience with debugging tools and Linux environments.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • Design, develop, code, test and debug embedded software (C/C++).
  • Prototype solutions from research to production.
  • Ensure high code quality and documentation for open-source projects.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebase.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
What You'll Work On
  • Design, develop, code, test and debug embedded software (C++, C)
  • Prototype a product solution from research to production
  • Most of the code will be open-source, we require high quality when coding and documenting
  • Maintain and improve the code
  • Spread the Arduino verb at conferences and with the developer community
  • Collaborate with hardware design team Review code
  • Review hardware designs
What You Bring
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
  • At least 5 years experience in Firmware and libraries development (C, C++)
  • Experience with JTAG and other debugging tools (gdb/valgrind)
  • Familiarity with Linux kernel or userspace programming
  • Extensive experience of Hardware debugging
  • Knowledge of IoT Protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, TCP, UDP, AMQP) and Github
  • Broad knowledge of git flow
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written is mandatory
Bonus Points
  • Knowledge of the Arduino ecosystem
  • Experience with Golang and/or Python

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits

€44,400.00 - €66,000.00 annual (Gross)

The above pay range reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay range for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. This range includes two additional months of pay as part of the annual salary. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
