Job summary

Prysmian seeks a Fiber Optic Cable Jointer based in Milan with assignments at onshore and offshore project sites. The role involves construction, maintenance and repair of electrical power distribution systems, including fiber optic splicing and testing, while leading a team and ensuring safety on high-voltage projects.

The position requires a technical diploma, a driving licence, basic English, and prior fiber optic experience.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in electronics and telecommunications.
• Valid Category B driving licence.
• Basic knowledge of English.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Previous experience in fiber optic field.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe construction, maintenance, and repair on live and de-energized underground systems, including fiber optics.
• Lead the team and represent the company in the absence of the Team Leader.
• Manage pre-job briefings and operational meetings.
• Assist with splicing, testing, and termination of fiber optic systems.
• Work with high-voltage systems up to 400 kV with safety and diligence.
• Operate and maintain company equipment and tools.
• Monitor team performance and ensure quality.
• Install, test, and monitor HV/EHV cables as required.
