Baker Hughes is seeking a Senior Engineer, Product Design and Engineering (Open) in Italy to lead combustion mechanical system design for low-emissions technology and energy-transition solutions. The role involves collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, and Materials & Processes teams, leveraging 3D CAD, FEA, and robust design processes to deliver reliable turbine components and robust documentation.

Italian and English fluency and EU work permit are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
• 3D modeling experience.

• Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Design combustion mechanical system for low-emissions tech and energy-transition solutions.
• Develop combustion chambers and fuel nozzles for gas turbines.
• Lead component development from concept to validation with lab testing and field reviews.
• Develop CAD models and drafting support.
• Perform structural/thermal hand calculations for stresses and life.
• Coordinate global engineering teams with Sourcing and the Supply chain.
• Lead outsourcing of engineering work and CBM activities with Service Engineering.
• Present ideas and analysis results in design reviews and sign-off of drawings.
• Document all work in design record books.

In this role the Combustion Mechanical Engineer will be responsible to design a Combustion Mechanical System relative to low emissions technology as well as solutions linked to Energy Transition like utilizing green fuels. You will have the responsibility to develop that technology through a strong interaction with Design, MFG and Material & Processes teams.

Responsibilities

• Having strong Gas Turbine product mindset and system engineering approach
• Conceiving ideas to solve mechanical problems on Combustion chambers and Fuel Nozzles for Gas Turbine
• Driving component development from concept, requirements analysis, prototyping, qualification and validation of designs through lab testing and field hardware review
• Developing solutions using CAD modeling and Drafting support
• Conducting structural/thermal hand calculations to determine component stresses and life for new products as well as supporting RCAs/NCRs
• Coordinating global engineering team and facilitate technical discussions within Engineering, Sourcing and the Supply chain
• Leading outsourcing of engineering work and CBM activities with Service Engineering
• Presenting ideas & analysis results through design reviews and drawing sign-off
• Documenting all work in design record books

Success Criteria

• Team Leader attitude, able to support development activities outside of individual domain expertise in a multitask and rapidly changing environment
• Have 5+ years of experience in engineering technical application
• Have 3D modeling experience
• Have FEA experience
• Have Experience with Design process and tools
• Have Fluency in Italian and English (written and verbal)
• Have EU work permit

For Italy: The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 43,600 To 70,000. he provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI - Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay
