Job summary

Intesa Sanpaolo in Milan seeks an experienced Emerging Markets Bond Trader to lead trading, market making and risk management across EM hard currency bonds, with a focus on sovereign and quasi-sovereign issuers denominated in USD and EUR.

The role involves developing relative-value and hedging strategies, working with Sales to share views, and contributing to the expansion of the EM trading franchise while ensuring compliance with internal policies.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of EM hard currency bond trading experience.
• Sovereign and quasi-sovereign credit with risk and trading book exposure.
• Strong knowledge of USD- and EUR-denominated EM debt.
• Experience across LatAm, CEE, MENA and/or Asia.
• Ability to manage sizeable positions and risk exposures.
• Identify and develop new trading opportunities.
• Experience with front-office trading, pricing, risk-management and position-keeping systems.
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or Mathematics.
• Strong sovereign credit analysis and macro fundamentals.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Trading and market making across EM sovereign and quasi-sovereign bonds (USD/EUR).
• Manage market, credit and liquidity risk within the assigned framework and limits.
• Provide competitive pricing and liquidity across EM perimeter.
• Balance client flows with market opportunities and risk/reward.
• Develop relative-value, directional and hedging strategies across EM credit markets.
• Collaborate with Sales to provide market views and trade ideas; support institutional client franchise.
• Identify opportunities to expand client activity and market coverage across EM.
• Coordinate with other Trading desks and hubs to optimize risk allocation and liquidity.
• Provide senior market expertise and contribute to strategic development.
• Ensure all trading complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
