UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Storage Advisory Expert to lead due diligence projects across energy storage and hybrid renewables, supporting financing, M&A and investor decisions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

You will mentor colleagues, engage senior stakeholders and contribute to regional growth while delivering high-quality advisory reports for leading developers, investors and lenders.

Qualifications

Job description

UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Storage Advisory Expert to play a key role in delivering high-impact renewables projects and transactions across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). This is a client-facing, transaction-focused position within our growing Renewables Advisory business, offering strong exposure to leading developers, investors and lenders.

The role centers on the delivery of technical and commercial due-diligence support for Independent Engineering (IE) and Technical Advisory (TA) projects across energy storage, solar and storage, and hybrid renewable portfolios. You will contribute directly to project financing, M&A and investment decisions by assessing risk, performance and bankability across complex projects.

The Senior Storage Advisory Expert integrates input from multidisciplinary teams to deliver consistent, high-quality advisory reports for our clients as well as supporting on team growth, mentoring other colleagues and supporting the growth in the region.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and deliver complex due diligence projects across storage, solar & storage and hybrid renewable portfolios
• Support major financing and transaction processes by reviewing contracts, financial models and technical documentation
• Prepare tailored, competitive proposals aligned with client needs and market standards
• Build strong client relationships and act as a primary point of contact on projects
• Contribute to team development through mentoring and knowledge sharing

This role can be based in a hybrid model from Barcelona, Pamplona, Milan, Warsaw or Dubai, or fully remote from the Netherlands, Germany or Italy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in energy storage, ideally within a technical advisory, developer or lender environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, performing contract and financial model reviews for energy infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project finance concepts, risk assessment, and bankability considerations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how technical and contractual factors influence project economics.
• Proven client-facing delivery experience and comfort interacting with senior stakeholders.
• Ability and willingness to mentor junior staff and share expertise across the organization.
• Familiarity with European market, regulatory and policy frameworks related to energy storage.
• Fluent English required; additional local language relevant to the country of application is expected.

What we offer:

• Salary range varies by location and local market conditions and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors.
• For Poland only: the annual salary range for this position starts from 180,000 PLN gross.
• For Italy Only: the annual salary range for this position starts from €50,000 gross (CBA level 2-1).
• This position is eligible for additional incentive with a target payout of 10% of base salary.
