Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Construction Safety Engineer to join its Livorno office within the Civil Engineering Division in Italy. The role focuses on ensuring safety of construction operations, developing safety plans, and coordinating with project teams.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction and Environment with at least five years of experience in construction safety, and fluency in Italian.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction and Environment, with relevant certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety management and safety program delivery.
• Fluency in Italian language is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and mitigate safety construction risks across projects.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct site inspections and develop corrective actions; prepare inspection reports.
• Develop project-specific safety plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Investigate accidents and near misses and propose preventive measures.
• Verify safety training for personnel and subcontractors; maintain training records.
• Prepare emergency response plans for each site and ensure awareness.
• Provide day-to-day support and coordination with engineering teams.
• Prepare progress and technical safety reports and deliverables.
