Partner Company in Europe is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer – Data Core based in Italy to architect and maintain data systems powering a vast creator platform. You’ll own end-to-end backend delivery, tackle distributed-system challenges, and optimize costs across cloud infrastructure while working asynchronously in a remote-first environment.

Competenze

• Proven experience building large-scale backend or data systems with reliability and cost considerations.
• Ability to take systems from concept to production, including architecture, release, and operation.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, partial failures, and backpressure.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and external dependencies with rate limits.

Mansioni

• Build and evolve backend systems powering a 400M+ creator data platform across major social platforms.
• Develop reliable collection infrastructure for billions of data points with freshness and quality.
• Design resilient services for API instability, rate limits, outages, and platform changes.
• Optimize infrastructure costs through efficient requests, proxies, storage, and compute.
• Determine which creators to collect, when, and how often while balancing value and cost.
• Own backend systems end-to-end from requirements to monitoring and iteration.
• Enhance observability, alerts, and data-quality safeguards to prevent customer impact.
• Collaborate with data, search, product, and engineering teams on interfaces and dependencies.
• Evaluate approaches via production experiments focusing on throughput and reliability.
• Contribute to engineering standards and architectural direction for critical infrastructure.
