R.A Jones, a Coesia company, is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to own the automation lifecycle of advanced packaging machinery near Bologna, Italy. You will bridge hardware design and software execution, collaborating with Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Project Management teams.

The role requires 10+ years in automation, expert Ladder Logic and PackML, and plc platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, and Beckhoff. Travel to UK/USA for alignments and commissioning is expected.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, or Mechatronics.
• 10+ years in automation and software design for industrial machinery.
• Experience in filling/packaging industry preferred.
• Mastery of PackML for machine state management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN.
• Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).

Mansioni

• Design and develop control software for packaging machine modules using Ladder Logic and structured text.
• Implement PackML (ISA-TR88) standards for machine state management.
• Design and program intuitive HMI interfaces for operation and diagnostics.
• Create detailed electrical schemes and wiring diagrams with appropriate components.
• Work within CAD/PDM environment to manage software versions and electrical BOMs.
• Integrate servo-driven axes, pneumatics, and motion systems with the automation framework.
• Lead software debugging and machine commissioning phases.
• Create user and technical documentation and training materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve machine performance and reduce lead times.
